I wonder if you can see me?
Are you able to peek thru' the heavenly clouds,
To watch me living our familiar life,
Seeing the home where you lived,
The yard where you ran,
The other dogs with whom you played,
Can you view us and not have
A twinge of homesickness,
Wanting to join us??

I wonder if you can hear me?
Are you able to listen despite the sound
Of angels singing around you,
And hear my plain words of love and longing?
Do they deliver adequately the fire that
Burns beneath them?
As you listen to my whispers of desperation,
Can you not have the tug of regret
Missing me too???

I wonder if you can feel me?
Are you able to stop God's work long
Enough to sense my pain
From being separated from you?
You have a sharp insight from knowing
Me so well after years of togetherness,
As you receive the vibrations I send you,
Can you not have the pull of sorrow,
For the worlds that divide us???
