The Songbird

 In all of nature throughout the world

We hear evidence of God's choice

To give the wonderful little songbird

The gift of its beautiful voice.

The sounds of the bird can be heard everywhere;

My ears its song does please.

It sends forth its melody from up in the sky

And from colorful, blossoming trees.

In the morning, when the world comes alive,

These songs bring warm feelings of love.

In the evening the air is occasionally filled

With sweet serenades from above.

Whether chirp of the sparrow or coo of the dove,

Each note makes my heart grow light.

Their music fills my soul with peace

When I hear it each day and night.
