Plea Of The Wolf

As the mighty Predator you hunt to near extinction,
I watch you as you walk by the lake in the pale moonlight,
As your children fish, and swim, and play, and fight.
You and they pass within my range everyday and every night,
but yet here you are unscathed.
When I see you I do not fear,
But when you see me it is only gunshots I hear.
When lives are taken and blood is shed,
You take to the woods with guns in search of my head.
Whether it be me, or brother coyote, or some stray dog,
You take to the woods in search of my grey,
My red,
My black,
My white,
My beautiful, glistening hair.
